Module 25 / 25
Your maps, observations, plant choices, and discussions now need to communicate a design that another person can understand. The final module focuses on explaining how the plan responds to the site and its goals, including the reasoning behind your choices.
The collective-intelligence video introduces a perspective on collaboration as you review your work. Use the portfolio and presentation guidance to connect the work you have developed through the course, account for feedback, and prepare the final design for our review.
What you’ll learn
Your final portfolio brings together the design work you have developed throughout the course, including all ten Design Exercises.
It should contain the site and goals, a base map with relevant overlays, a concept and chosen layout, the plant/element relationships, and a short implementation sequence, budget, and monitoring plan.

Consider how other people’s observations and questions can inform a design review. Relate the discussion to the feedback you have received while developing your project.

Open resourcePresent the design in a form that lets the reader see the plan and understand your reasoning. State assumptions and limits. Explain one alternative you considered and why you did not choose it. Use feedback from our discussions to strengthen your final presentation. Identify one resulting revision or explain why you retained the design. You can also seek feedback from a landholder or peer.
I will review your final design for fit with the goals and site observations; application of ethics and principles; functional relationships; feasibility and care requirements; safety and stated limits; and a clear explanation of your reasoning.
Save written notes as a document or PDF. For paper maps or handwritten notes, use a clear photo or scan. You can combine related work in one file.
Attach your final presentation or portfolio, with any separate maps, tables, Design Exercise records, and module assignment files you have not already sent for review.
